The Regency Bar & Grill
The Regency Bar & Grill offers new American cuisine emphasizing locally sourced ingredients, bright flavors and thoughtfully prepared seasonal vegetables coupled with high quality meat and fish. Be one of the first to experience this exciting new dining concept managed by New York City restaurateurs Gherardo Guarducci and Dimitri Pauli of the Sant Ambroeus Hospitality Group (Sant Ambroeus, Casa Lever and Felice) and helmed by culinary heavy-hitter Executive Chef Dan Silverman, whose resume includes The Standard Grill and Union Square Cafe. Together, Sant Ambroeus and Executive Chef Silverman oversee the menu with an emphasis on market-fresh ingredients and modern interpretations of classic dishes that combine local New York produce with international flavors.
Combining the old and the new, The Regency Bar & Grill also plays host to the famed Power Breakfast, a term coined by the Tisch Family in 1975. Considered the birthplace of the Power Breakfast, Loews Regency Hotel stands as one of the most iconic dining experiences in Manhattan, offering local New Yorkers and hotel guests the perfect opportunity for people watching—and the chance to dine among some of the most powerful professionals in New York City. Don’t be surprised to see regulars such as Katie Couric, Larry King and Reverend Al Sharpton, in addition to a younger generation of media-savvy tastemakers and entrepreneurs.
Designed by Meyer Davis Studio Inc. the restaurant encompasses a 135-seat dining room and a 32-seat full-service bar and lounge.
Cuisine
At breakfast, guests can expect traditional favorites including an American Breakfast, Eggs Florentine and a Classic Benedict, plus a range of healthy choices (such as an egg white frittata, yogurt and granola, and oatmeal). New York bagels are a given.
Lunch dishes include favorites such as tomato soup, chicken consommé with dumplings, grilled cheddar cheese and turkey club sandwiches and a lineup of delicious but healthy salads, from classic Caesar and Nicoise to lobster and skirt-steak salads and the specialty, Joan's Regency Salad, featuring grilled chicken, avocado, cheddar, egg, bacon and cherry tomatoes. Pastas as well as seafood, chicken and meat entrees round out the midday menu.
Dinner at The Regency Bar & Grill is as stylish as the hotel itself, starting with the raw bar and fabulous appetizers such as a Sullivan County Foie Gras Terrine, and continuing with signature pastas, and locally sourced seafood, steaks and other poultry and meat dishes from the grill. Entrees included a Seared Yellowfin Tuna and a Pan Roasted Veal Chop. Fresh vegetable sides include glazed baby turnips and crispy artichokes—but we will understand if you can't go past an order (or two) of JT's French Fries.
